Warmly welcome you to participate in the virtual event of "Tiangong dialogue - talk with Taikonauts"!

Dear friends, today’s dialogue is very unusual and meaningful.

This is a dialogue spanning the past and present. China is an ancient civilization with a long history of more than 5000 years. The Chinese people have had a dream of flying to the sky since ancient times. Popular stories such as " running to the moon" and "chasing the sun" have been told from generation to generation. Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949, China's space industry has been developed rapidly. China has carried out manned space flight, lunar exploration, Mars exploration, and solar exploration and other space projects step by step. The Chinese nation's aspiration to explore the brilliant universe has ultimately come true from myth and legend, and the ambition of "flying to the highest havens to embrace the moon" has become a reality.

This is a dialogue linking the outer space and the earth. After 30 years of unremitting efforts, China's manned space flight has entered the era of the space station. It is expected that the space station will be completed and put into full use this year. The space station includes the “Tianhe” core module, the “Wentian” experimental module and the “Mengtian” experimental module. You can find the information from the pamphlet we prepared. As a national space laboratory, the "Tiangong" space station is also an important space science education base. It has held "Tiangong classroom” for several times, with Chinese taikonauts serving as "space teachers" to demonstrate the interesting phenomena such as the disappearance of buoyancy experiment and the space parabolic experiment to the youth on the earth, and explaining the scientific principles behind the experiment. It has brought a wonderful space science lesson to the youth.

This is a dialogue conveying friendship. The people-to-people and cultural exchange project is one of "Nine Projects" of China-Africa cooperation which Chinese president Xi Jinping announced in November last year. The “Tiangong dialogue” is in essence an important part of it. It is also the first time that the "Tiangong" space station has set an online dialogue in Africa, mainly for the teenagers. Teenagers are the hope of the nations and future of China-Eritrea strategic partnership. May friendship between the two peoples pass down from generation to generation.

This is a dialogue sowing hope. The "Tiangong" space station is not only China's space laboratory, but also an important platform for space cooperation with other countries in the world. At the end of May this year, China and the United Nations formally issued an invitation to the world to provide all UN Member States, especially developing countries, with the opportunity to use the “Tiangong” space station. Dear students, hope you have dream, study hard, and strive to be guests of the "Tiangong" space station one day.

September 10th is the Teacher’s Day in China my best wishes go to the teachers. September 10th is also the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival. It is time for people to worship the moon and for family reunion. There is a Chinese poem that goes "May we all be sound and well, and share the moonlight even though far apart. " On the Mid-Autumn Festival, Chinese families will get together to enjoy the beautiful moonlight and taste the mooncakes. The Chinese and Eritrean people are just like a family. Our embassy has also prepared some mooncakes for you to take back home. When you gather with your family to enjoy the moonlight and the mooncakes, I hope you can also find the "Tiangong" space station flying in outer space.
