The Embassy of China in Eritrea will officially launch the Chinese Visa Online Processing System on March 31, 2025. Applicants applying for Chinese visas are required to visit the website “https://consular.mfa.gov.cn/VISA/”, fill the online form, upload application materials and check application process online.

Starting from March 31st, 2025, the previous “COVA” system (https://cova.mfa.gov.cn) is no longer in use at the Embassy of China in Eritrea.
