The Chinese Embassy Attended the 2025 International Chinese Day

As the May 4 Chinese Youth Day is around the corner, the 2025 International Chinese Day was successfully held in Dembe Sembel School, Asmara on May 3.

Mr. Dai Demao, Charge d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy said in his speech that the Chinese language carries profound meaning, its vitality never wanes over the past millenniums, and its importance and influence keep rising, serving as a vital bridge for the world to understand China and for mutual learning and exchange between Chinese and other civilizations. He said this event marks another successful practice of cultural and people-to-people exchanges between China and Eritrea. The youth are the pillars of national development for both China and Eritrea, as well as the torchbearers of our bilateral friendship. As May 4th marks China’s Youth Day, he wishes Eritrean youth actively participate in Chinese language learning and China-Eritrea cultural exchanges, so as to making their own contributions to China-Eritrea friendship.

In the event, Chinese calligraphy works and paintings of the students of Confucius Institute were exhibited, and wonderful Taiji and Chinese songs and dances were performed.
