On February 4, the Chinese Embassy held the 2026 reception celebrating the Spring Festival and the launching ceremony of China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges in Eritrea. Chargé d'Affaires Mr. Dai Demao extended his most sincere festival greetings and best new year wishes to all guests, introduced the significance of celebrating the Spring Festival from 4 aspects: upholding traditions, breaking new grounds and innovating, embracing change, and cherishing peace. Mr. Dai also announced the official launching of the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges in Eritrea.

Chinese and Eritrean artists presented wonderful performances including traditional Chinese musical instrument, calligraphy, songs and dances.
