On April 2, Chargé d'Affaires Mr. Dai Demao attended “Belt and Road, Less Sugar Healthy”Reduction Public Welfare Activity by the 18th Chinese Medical Team in Eritrea.
Mr. Dai highly praised the medical cooperation between China and Eritrea, and fully recognized the contributions made by the Chinese medical team to Eritrea as well as its organization of this public welfare activity. He stated that China is ready to share its practical experience in the field of public health with Eritrea, help more Eritrean communities develop scientific dietary habits, and jointly build a community of common health for mankind.
Mr.Liang Yan, leader of the 18th Chinese Medical Team to Eritrea, noted that this event is a vivid example of medical cooperation between Eritrea and China under the Belt and Road Initiative, aimed at raising health awareness among the Eritrean people. The Chinese medical team stands ready to continue making positive contributions to advancing China-Eritrea medical cooperation.
Dr. Andebrhan, Director of the Ministry of Health in Eritrea, Dr. Mary, WHO Representative in Eritrea, and other participants expressed their gratitude to the Chinese Medical Team for launching this important initiative. At the event, a lecture on sugar reduction for health, filling out the questionnaires, as well as the distribution of sugar-control jars and promotion materials were held.
