On July 25th, the Chinese Embassy in Eritrea held a tree planting activity in “China-Eritrea Friendship Woods” in Asmara. Ambassador Li Xiang of China to Eritrea, Mr. Arefaine Berhe，MoA，Mr. Tesfai Ghebreselassie，MoLWE，officials of the central region administration attended the activity. More than 40 people including Minister Counsellor Dai Demao, Counsellor Lai Chunsheng, China medical team, Confucius Institute and representatives of Chinese enterprises participated the activity.

Ambassador Li said that with the support of Eritrean government and friends, more than 300 seedlings have been planted in Asmara “China-Eritrea Friendship Woods” so far. We will continue to implement the initiatives of "Green Development" and "Greening Campaign" put forward by the two heads of state, and bring more greens to Asmara. We believe that the seedlings of friendship between China and Eritrea will be passed down from generation to generation under our joint efforts.

Minister Arefaine Berhe and Minister Tesfai both said that coping with climate change is a common challenge faced by all mankind. Eritrea has actively carried out afforestation for many years, thanked Chinese Embassy for its strong support for Eritrea's environmental protection cause. The Eritrean government will continue to vigorously carry out environmental protection and promote the in-depth development of China-Eritrea friendship.
