On December 13, the United Nations Organizations in Eritrea held the end-of-year reception. Eritrean Foreign Minister Osman, UN Resident Coordinator in Eritrea Ms. Valji, Eritrean Ministers and diplomats in Eritrea attended among over 100 participants. Ambassador Li Xiang delivered a speech representing the diplomatic corps in Eritrea.

Ambassador Li introduced the Global Development Initiative, and said development is a perpetual pursuit of humanity. China actively delivers on the important initiatives and measures of President Xi Jinping on development, conducts wide-range bilateral and trilateral cooperation with Eritrea and the UN, taking concrete measures to contribute to China and Eritrea’s pursuit of modernization and to accelerate the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Foreign Minister Osman said Eritrea is ready to work with UN organizations to promote further development in Eritrea’s economy and society by improving infrastructure, and utilizing energy, mining, water and land resources, and to fulfill the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Agenda 2063 of African Union.
